Our religion series, Blest Are We, is published by RCL Benzigner. This spiral-based curriculum covers the core values of our faith at each grade level. “Promise Magazine” is used in kindergarten and first grades to supplement the curriculum. While sacraments are studied in every grade level, sacramental preparation and celebration occur at the students’ home parishes.
Prayer is celebrated throughout the school day. Each day begins with a student-led scripture reading and ends with an administrator-led prayer. Students compose and share prayers in various forms as part of the religion curriculum. A mass or prayer service is celebrated weekly. Students may volunteer to serve as liturgical ministers.
Students participate in service projects that benefit church and community agencies. School-wide projects include collections for food pantries and Christmas gifts for needy children and the elderly. In addition, students volunteer at Hands Against Hunger, Matthew 25 Ministries and Ronald McDonald House. These projects enhance the students’ understanding of the value of service and encourage lifelong involvement in serving others.
